First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study tested whether providing free, ready-to-eat meals designed for diabetes (plus phone coaching) for 6 months could improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes who also face food insecurity. 215 participants were randomly assigned to receive the meals or usual care plus a small monthly food subsidy. The main goal was to see if the meal program lowered hemoglobin A1c levels after 6 months.
