Could a poop pill boost cancer treatment? new trial tests gut bacteria transplant for tough colorectal tumors

NCT ID NCT07486492

First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This early study tests whether transplanting gut bacteria from young donors (fecal transplant) can make standard immunotherapy and chemotherapy work better for people with advanced colorectal cancer that hasn't responded to prior treatment. Ten patients will receive the combination and be monitored closely for side effects and tumor response. The goal is to see if this approach is safe and might help control the disease.
