Poop pills could fight peanut allergies
NCT ID NCT02960074
First seen May 01, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This early-stage trial tested whether taking capsules containing healthy gut bacteria (from donated stool) could help people with peanut allergies tolerate more peanut without a reaction. Fifteen adults aged 18-40 received the treatment, with or without antibiotics first. The main goal was to check safety, but researchers also looked for changes in peanut tolerance during food challenges.
