New study uses skin light to track hidden inflammation in FMF patients

NCT ID NCT07439341

First seen Mar 07, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study looks at people with Familial Mediterranean Fever (FMF), a condition that causes repeated bouts of inflammation. Researchers want to see if a simple, non-invasive skin test can measure long-term inflammation and relate it to a blood-based marker called the CALLY index. About 150 participants (100 with FMF and 50 healthy volunteers) will have their skin fluorescence measured and routine blood work analyzed. No treatments or medications are given—this is purely an observation to better understand the disease.
