First seen Nov 24, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a non-invasive ultrasound of the carotid artery, combined with a simple leg-raising maneuver, can reliably tell if a patient needs more fluids during coronary bypass surgery. Researchers measured blood flow changes in 50 adults undergoing elective surgery. The goal was to find a safer, easier way to guide fluid management without invasive monitoring.
