Lung ultrasound may help surgeons give just the right amount of fluids

NCT ID NCT03502460

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study tested whether a lung ultrasound can help doctors give the right amount of fluids during surgery. 200 adults having various surgeries were monitored. The goal was to see if the ultrasound could detect early fluid overload as well as standard methods. The findings could lead to a simpler, non-invasive way to guide fluid therapy in the operating room.
