Heart failure study challenges strict fluid limits: is thirst a better guide?
NCT ID NCT07400991
Summary
This study aims to find out if letting hospitalized heart failure patients drink fluids based on their thirst is as safe and effective as the standard practice of strictly limiting their fluid intake. It will involve 420 adults hospitalized for sudden worsening of heart failure. Researchers will compare how quickly patients recover and their quality of life under each approach, both in the hospital and for one month after going home.
