Doctors track ICU fluids to uncover hidden kidney injury risk

NCT ID NCT07338734

Summary

This study aims to understand if the amount of fluids a patient receives or loses in the first two days of intensive care is linked to developing sudden kidney injury. Researchers will closely monitor 120 critically ill adults who do not have kidney problems when they enter the ICU. By tracking fluids and checking kidney function, they hope to find patterns that could help doctors better manage fluids to protect patients' kidneys in the future.
