Scientists track how flu vaccines work in seniors over two years

NCT ID NCT02872311

Summary

This study aimed to understand how well different licensed flu vaccines protect adults aged 65-74 over two consecutive flu seasons. Researchers randomly assigned 179 participants to receive one of three available vaccines in the first year, with some groups receiving the same or a different vaccine in the second year. The main goal was to measure and compare the strength and duration of the immune response through blood tests taken before and after vaccination over 18 months.
