Floating away trauma: could sensory deprivation tanks calm PTSD?

NCT ID NCT04368689

First seen Jan 24, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests whether floating in a special tank—where you're isolated from light, sound, and touch—can reduce symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). About 30 adults with PTSD will take part. Researchers will measure changes in PTSD severity, depression, anxiety, and overall well-being before and after floating sessions.
