First seen Mar 12, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study tested 24 healthy adults to see if the finger chosen for a pulse oximeter sensor changes oxygen level readings during brief low-oxygen and high-carbon-dioxide conditions. The goal was to find out if finger choice affects accuracy, which could help improve diagnosis. Results may guide better sensor placement in future care.
