New ICU filter trial aims to tame deadly infection and save kidneys

NCT ID NCT06440759

Summary

This study is testing two different blood filters used in a life-support machine for patients in the ICU. The patients have severe pneumonia that has caused their kidneys to suddenly fail. Researchers want to see if one filter (called oXiris) is better than the other (M100) at reducing harmful inflammation and improving survival over 28 days.
