Could a simple fiber boost help kids overcome peanut allergies?
NCT ID NCT05138757
Summary
This study tested whether adding a common dietary fiber supplement to standard peanut allergy treatment helps children better tolerate small amounts of peanut. Researchers wanted to see if the fiber reduced treatment side effects and improved outcomes by changing gut bacteria. The 5-year pilot study involved 20 children aged 4-17 who were already undergoing oral immunotherapy for their peanut allergy.
