Scientists probe how your gut handles fiber during fasting
NCT ID NCT04633369
Summary
This study aims to understand how eating different amounts of dietary fiber during a daily 16-hour fast affects a person's gut bacteria and blood sugar levels. Researchers are enrolling 115 healthy adults who will follow a specific eating schedule and consume set amounts of fiber while wearing a continuous glucose monitor. The goal is to gather detailed information to help personalize future nutrition advice, not to treat a disease.
