No-Surgery sterilization: new block gel could replace tubal ligation

Summary
This study tests FemBloc, a gel placed into the fallopian tubes to block them permanently, as an alternative to surgery. About 573 women who want permanent birth control will receive the treatment and be followed for up to 5 years to see how well it prevents pregnancy. The procedure is done in a doctor's office and uses ultrasound to confirm the tubes are blocked.
