Swallow study seeks to prevent unnecessary diet bans
NCT ID NCT07278076
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study looks at how speech-language pathologists decide whether to restrict a patient's diet based on food left in the throat after swallowing. Sixty therapists will rate images of residue and some will watch an educational video first. The goal is to find patterns that may lead to overly strict diet limits, so therapists can try more strategies before restricting food.
