Scientists test special oil to boost preemie brain development

Summary
This study is testing how well a special oil supplement is absorbed by very premature babies born before 32 weeks. Fifteen babies will receive the supplement, which contains important fatty acids, from their first days until they reach 36 weeks of age. Researchers will measure the fatty acid levels in the babies' blood and also check for effects on brain function, lung development, and growth.
