New study tests fatigue fighter for advanced breast cancer patients

Summary

This study tests whether megestrol acetate, a drug that may help with fatigue, can prevent or reduce tiredness in people with advanced breast cancer who are starting a treatment called trastuzumab deruxtecan. About 132 women aged 18-75 with HER2-positive, low, or ultralow breast cancer will take either megestrol acetate or a placebo. The goal is to see if this approach improves their quality of life by easing fatigue.
