Could your own fat heal severe burns better than standard care?

NCT ID NCT06857448

First seen Nov 05, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tests a new approach that uses a patient's own fat tissue to treat deep wounds from burns or traumatic skin loss. Researchers want to see if adding fat grafts under a skin graft can improve healing, reduce scarring, and lower infection risk compared to standard treatment. About 68 adults with recent severe wounds will take part, and their scars will be evaluated 9 months later.
