Summary

This phase 2 trial tests a combination of fasudil hydrochloride and an immunotherapy drug (tirapibep) in 30 men with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer that has progressed after standard treatments. Participants receive the drugs alongside standard hormone therapy over four 21-day cycles. The study aims to see if the combination is safe and can lower PSA levels, a marker of cancer activity.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
fasudil hydrochloride combined with PD-1 monoclonal antibody (tirapibep)
What this could lead to
If successful, this combination could offer a new treatment option for men with advanced prostate cancer that has stopped responding to standard therapies.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase trial with only 30 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The treatment may cause side effects or fail to improve outcomes.
