New 4-Hour test could speed up treatment for dangerous diabetic foot infections
NCT ID NCT07391995
Summary
This study is testing a new, faster diagnostic tool called MinION to identify the bacteria and fungi causing serious bone infections in diabetic foot wounds. It will compare results from this new tool, which can provide answers in about 4 hours, to the standard culture method that can take weeks. The goal is to see if faster, more detailed results can help doctors prescribe the right antibiotics sooner for better patient care.
