New drug may speed up recovery after colon surgery

NCT ID NCT07271875

Summary

This study aims to see if a newer drug (sugammadex) helps patients recover their bowel function faster after colon surgery compared to the standard drug combination (neostigmine/atropine). It will involve 560 adults having planned colon surgery. The main goal is to see if more patients can eat normally and pass gas or have a bowel movement within 3 days after their operation.
