New flap technique may boost bone growth in cleft repair

NCT ID NCT07512531

First seen Apr 08, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at whether using a facial artery flap (FAMM) helps bone heal better in people with a cleft in the gum area (alveolar cleft). Five people aged 9 to 20 who have already had orthodontic treatment will get the flap. The main goal is to measure bone gain using 3D X-rays. This is an early, small study to gather information, not a treatment trial.
