NCT ID NCT07537023
First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study tested whether having family members provide emotional support and a comforting presence could help patients with traumatic brain injury recover from a coma. 120 adults in the ICU were split into two groups: one received standard care, and the other also had family stimulation sessions. The results showed that patients who received family support had better consciousness levels and coma recovery scores, suggesting this simple approach can improve outcomes.
