Summary

This study compares a structured fall prevention program called Steady Strides to standard primary care for adults aged 65 and older who have fallen at least twice in the past six months. The program includes medical check-ups, exercises, and education. Researchers will track how many falls participants have over six months to see if the program is more effective than usual care.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Steady Strides fall prevention protocol (multifactorial intervention including medical assessment, exercise, and education)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide a more effective, structured fall prevention program for older adults, reducing injuries and hospital visits.
What could go wrong
This is a relatively small study (102 participants) and relies on self-reported falls, which may not be fully accurate. The intervention is complex and may not be easily scalable.
