Tribal community fights high fall rates with culturally tailored exercise
NCT ID NCT04876729
Summary
This study tested a program to help prevent falls among older adults in the Zuni Pueblo community, where fall rates are high. Researchers worked with Zuni leaders to adapt a proven exercise program, which was then delivered by trusted, Zuni-speaking Community Health Representatives. The goal was to see if this approach could improve strength, balance, and overall health better than standard educational materials alone.
