Summary
This study tested whether a structured, interactive fall-prevention education program helps older adults at high risk of falls adopt safer behaviors. Sixty-six participants aged 65+ were randomly assigned to either two 25-minute education sessions or a brochure. Researchers measured changes in fall-related behaviors and knowledge. The goal is to see if this low-cost approach can reduce falls and improve quality of life.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Structured fall-prevention education program
What this could lead to
If effective, this education program could help older adults reduce their risk of falling and prevent injuries.
What could go wrong
This is a small, completed study with 66 participants, so results may not apply to all older adults. The education may not change behavior enough to prevent falls in real life.
