Mind over matter: imagined walking test may predict fall risk
NCT ID NCT04039841
First seen Apr 11, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looked at whether a simple test—imagining getting up and walking—can help predict falls in people aged 50 to 85 who are at risk for osteoporosis. Participants performed both a real and an imagined version of the Timed Up and Go test. Researchers then tracked falls over the next year to see if differences between real and imagined times could forecast a fall. The goal is to find a simple, non-invasive way to identify those at higher risk.
