NCT ID NCT07221006
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 32 times
Summary
This study looks at whether spending time with a specially trained medical dog can help children ages 8 to 17 feel less afraid and anxious while staying in the hospital. Kids will be randomly assigned to a visit from a dog and its handler, a child life specialist, or a coloring activity. Researchers will measure their anxiety, fear, coping ability, and heart rate to see if the dog visit makes a difference.
