Summary
This study tested if wearing a special facemask during upper endoscopy (a scope down the throat) lowers the amount of tiny particles released into the air. 57 adults having elective procedures took part, some with a mask and some without. The goal was to see if masks can help protect healthcare workers from infections like COVID-19.
