Summary
This study aimed to find out how many Portuguese patients with unexplained heart muscle diseases actually have Fabry disease, a rare genetic disorder. Researchers screened 409 adults with different types of unexplained heart conditions to identify previously undiagnosed cases. The goal was to improve detection of this treatable condition in people who might not know they have it.
