Doctors watch Patients' eyes during surgery to prevent waking up

NCT ID NCT07199049

Summary

This study aims to see if simple eye signs—like eyelid reflexes, eye movements, and pupil size—can help doctors better monitor how deeply asleep a patient is during surgery. Researchers will observe 60 adults having planned abdominal surgery, recording these signs at three key points. The goal is to find new, non-invasive ways to help prevent the rare but serious problem of patients becoming aware during an operation.
