Scientists test tiny eye implant to halt blinding disease
NCT ID NCT06557460
Summary
This study is testing whether a small implant placed under the retina can help preserve or improve vision in people with advanced dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD), a leading cause of vision loss. The trial will compare the implant against a simulated procedure in 24 participants to see if it's safe and if it can slow the progression of the disease. The goal is to control the disease and protect remaining vision, not to cure it.
