Could your eye numbing gel let germs survive surgery?
NCT ID NCT05934253
Summary
This study checked if a new, thinner numbing gel for the eye blocks the germ-killing power of a standard antiseptic used before surgery. Researchers compared the new gel to a standard numbing drop in 100 patients to see which one allowed the antiseptic to work better. They measured bacteria on the eye's surface before and after applying the treatments.
