Diabetes may worsen eye cell loss after cataract surgery, study finds

Summary

This study looked at 100 people aged 40 and older who had cataract surgery. Half had type 2 diabetes and half did not. Researchers measured changes in the thin cell layer on the inside of the cornea before and after surgery to see if diabetes affects recovery. The goal is to help doctors plan safer surgery for people with diabetes.
