First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study follows over 8,600 women in Costa Rica who received the HPV vaccine (types 16 and 18) and compares them to unvaccinated women. Researchers want to see how long the vaccine protects against cervical and other cancers, and whether it might lead to more lesions from other HPV types. The goal is to better understand the vaccine's long-term benefits and any potential risks.
