First seen Nov 05, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tests whether a specially modified pig kidney (called a thymokidney) can safely work in people with end-stage kidney disease who cannot get a human kidney transplant. About 50 participants will receive the pig kidney and be followed for life to check survival, kidney function, and side effects. The goal is to offer a new option for those who have no other hope for a transplant.
