New study: exercise and brain training may reduce menstrual cramps

Summary
This study looks at whether adding motor imagery (mental practice of movement) or pain neuroscience education (learning about how pain works) to an exercise program can reduce menstrual pain and improve thinking flexibility in young women with primary dysmenorrhea. About 51 women aged 18-25 will be assigned to one of three groups: exercise only, exercise plus motor imagery, or exercise plus pain education. They will attend supervised sessions twice a week for 8 weeks and report their pain and symptoms during the first three days of their period.
