NCT ID NCT06875596
First seen Jan 29, 2026 · Last updated Jun 24, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tests whether an 8-week exercise program can improve shoulder movement and stability in young female handball players who have scapular dyskinesis (abnormal shoulder blade motion). Sixty healthy players with no recent injuries will be randomly assigned to either a special scapular-focused exercise program or a standard upper-limb exercise program. Researchers will measure shoulder rhythm, strength, and balance before and after the program to see which approach works better.

What this could lead to
If successful, this could point toward a simple, non-drug exercise program to prevent or treat shoulder problems in young female handball players.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 60 participants, so results may not apply to all athletes. The exercises may not work better than standard training.
