Can a simple exercise program reverse muscle loss in older women?
NCT ID NCT07359495
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a 32-week multicomponent exercise program can improve muscle quality and function in women over 60 with sarcopenia. Forty participants will do strength, balance, aerobic, and flexibility exercises. The goal is to see if the program leads to better muscle structure and physical independence.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- multicomponent exercise program
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could provide a safe, non-drug way to improve muscle strength and independence in older women with sarcopenia.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage trial with only 40 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The program requires commitment and may not work for all.
