Why some get fitter faster: scientists uncover muscle signals
NCT ID NCT06141512
First seen May 06, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study looked at why some people improve their aerobic fitness (VO2max) more than others with exercise. Researchers measured levels of myokines—proteins released by muscles—in 21 healthy men before and after a training program. The goal was to see if low responders had smaller increases in these myokines, which could explain differences in fitness gains.
