New ultrasound technique could sharpen heart arrhythmia diagnosis
NCT ID NCT06577714
First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a new, non-invasive ultrasound imaging method called electromechanical wave imaging (EWI) can more accurately diagnose the location and cause of heart rhythm problems (arrhythmias) than standard tests. About 322 adults already scheduled for a heart procedure will get an EWI scan beforehand. Half of them will have their EWI results shared with their doctor to see if it helps make the procedure faster or more effective. The goal is to improve personalized treatment and reduce the need for invasive testing.
