First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This pilot study tests a new diet for people on hemodialysis who have high potassium levels. Instead of limiting fruits and vegetables, the diet focuses on avoiding foods with easily absorbed potassium, like processed meats and sugary drinks. The goal is to see if this approach is practical and helps control potassium levels. About 50 adults on dialysis will participate for 3 months.
