Tumor tightness may reveal cancer severity in esophageal patients
NCT ID NCT02372929
First seen Nov 12, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study looked at 100 people with esophageal cancer to see if a very narrow esophagus (stricture) caused by the tumor is linked to more advanced cancer. Doctors used an endoscopic ultrasound to stage the cancer and checked if they could pass the scope through the narrowed area. The goal was to learn if a tight stricture means the cancer is already locally advanced.
