Spine surgery patients may need less opioids with Pre-Procedure nerve block

NCT ID NCT06303557

First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study looked at whether giving a nerve block (ESPB) before lumbar spine surgery reduces the amount of remifentanil (a strong painkiller) needed during the operation. Sixty adults having elective lumbar disc surgery were included. The goal was to see if the block provides better pain control and more stable vital signs during surgery.
