First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study looked at 120 adults having gallbladder surgery to see if a nerve block (ESP block) given before or after the operation changes the heart's electrical signals. The goal was to understand if the timing of the block affects heart safety. Participants were split into three groups: no block, block before surgery, or block after surgery. The study measured heart activity with an ECG before and one hour after surgery.
