First seen May 16, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether adding an experimental pill called vactosertib to standard chemotherapy and radiation can improve treatment for people with esophageal cancer. About 30 participants will take vactosertib for two weeks before and after standard therapy, then have scans and biopsies to see if the cancer responds. The goal is to find a more effective way to shrink tumors before surgery. The trial is currently suspended.
