Summary
This study is testing whether a special fluorescent dye can help surgeons more accurately identify and remove the lymph nodes most likely to contain cancer during surgery for esophageal cancer. The goal is to see if using this dye to guide surgery can reduce the need to remove many healthy lymph nodes, which may lower the risk of complications like fluid buildup in the chest. Researchers will compare the dye-guided method to the standard practice of removing many lymph nodes to see which is better at finding cancer while being safer.
