Stomach stitching without surgery: can it reverse fatty liver?

NCT ID NCT05507151

First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a non-surgical stomach-reducing procedure called endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty (ESG) can help obese people with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease lose weight and improve liver health. Researchers will measure changes in liver fat and stiffness, as well as weight and quality of life, in 30 participants over 6 months. The goal is to see if ESG is a safe and effective way to manage both obesity and fatty liver disease.
