Summary
This study looks at how well the antidepressant escitalopram works in 200 adults who are having their first episode of major depression and have never taken medication for it. Participants will take escitalopram for 8 weeks, and researchers will track their symptoms, thinking skills, and any side effects. The goal is to understand who benefits most from this drug and why, using advanced tests like brain scans and genetic analysis.
